ANDRE SILVA
André Silva, a Civil Engineer, holds a master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto, Portugal. With a career spanning over a decade and encompassing countries such as Portugal, Angola, Brazil, and Canada, he is characterized by a profound dedication to geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring projects. This dedication extends beyond his professional endeavours to include involvement in publications and participation in specialized congresses.
In addition to his academic and professional achievements, André is an active associate member of the Portuguese and Brazilian Geotechnical Society (SPG Portugal and ABMS Brazil), showcasing his commitment to geotechnical communities in both countries where he operates. He plays a significant role as Brazil's representative in the International Technical Committee TC220, which addresses global geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring issues.
Since 2020, André has served as a Geotechnical Engineer in the Technical Support Services Department at Measurand, a company within the Terra Insights Group. In this capacity, he provides technical support to clients worldwide, focusing on Brazil and Latin America across various sectors such as infrastructure and mining.
André was honoured as the winner of the Young Geotechnical Professionals Award, presented by the Portuguese Geotechnical Society in 2023, and he is the also the creator and host of the I&M Geotech Podcast, a podcast/videocast fully dedicated to Instrumentation and Geotechnical Monitoring.
