I have a degree in Geological Engineering from Escola de Minas/Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto and a Master of Sciences (Msc.) in Geotechnical and Geological Engineering from Universidade de São Paulo. Professional experience: Golder Associates Brazil, VOGBR Recursos Hídricos e Geotecnia (Technical Manager) and F&Z Consultoria e Projetos (Consultant/Director). I have over twenty-five years of experience in mining geotechnical projects, especially, pit slope design, rock mechanics, underground mines and tunnels, and I am a member of Geotechnical Review Boards (GRBs). I have written and published a number of technical papers, and I am the co-author of Chapter 10 - Soft Iron Ores and Other Leached Rocks in the book “Guidelines for Open Pit Slope Design in Weak Rocks” – CRC Press, 2018.
