Eduardo Antonio Gomes Marques completed his doctorate in Geology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 199c. He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Viçosa. He has published several articles in international journals. He has books and book chapters published in Brazil and abroad. Supervised more than 100 master's and doctoral students in the areas of Civil Engineering, Geology, Geography, Environmental Engineering and Mining Engineering. Supervised 2 post-doctorates. He was Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) and Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Civil Engineering at the same university. He is a reviewer for the magazines Soil Rocks, Engineering Geology, Bulletin of Engineering Geology and the Environment, Engineering Geology, Journal of Geological Resource and Engineering and Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering. He is a member of the Brazilian Association of Engineering and Environmental Geology (ABGE), the International Association on Engineering Geology and The Environment (IAEG), the International Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM) and the Portuguese Society of Geotechnics (SPG). He works in the area of ​​Engineering Geology and Geotechnics, with an emphasis on Engineering Geology, Rock Mechanics, Geotechnical Cartography, Slope Stability, Hydrogeology and the Environment.
