Warren Newcomen is a geotechnical engineer with over 35 years of experience specializing in the assessment, analysis, design and reporting for a wide range of mining projects in North America and internationally. He has project management, contract tendering, construction supervision, and client-contractor liaison experience. Warren has extensive practical experience in rock mechanics investigations and rock mass strength assessments. He has strong expertise in the use of geotechnical instrumentation to optimize mining operations and minimize risk and has written several papers on this subject. He has conducted regular reviews and risk assessments for operating mines and specializes in working with operations to understand and mitigate slope stability challenges. He is an expert on horizontal drainage applications for slope stabilization.
