Jan de Beer led the Reutech team that developed the Movement and Surveying Radar (MSR) which is now used as a primary slope stability safety instrument in multiple countries on six continents. 

Reutech Mining was formed in 2006 as an independent business unit of Reutech Radar Systems (RRS) to provide this instrument to the mining industry in a commercial capacity. 

Before the creation of Reutech Mining, Jan worked in the defence arm of RRS as well as in the development sections of various telecommunication and financial companies.

Jan has an Electrical Engineering qualification from the Vaal University of Technology and an Executive Management qualification from Stellenbosch University.
